Shelley McGinnis is one of Arizona’s best-kept secrets. But her name, reputation and certainly her desserts are taking the Phoenix and Scottsdale area by storm. With many Restaurant, Resort and private Clients in the Phoenix and Scottsdale market, Shelley is in great demand and Your Personal Chef is proud to retain her as its exclusive Pastry and Dessert provider.
Shelley is Minnesota born and raised and grew up in a family of farmers who cooked all their families’ breads, pastries and desserts daily and weekly from scratch, using all the natural, fresh ingredients that the farm would yield. Shelley takes pride in using those great traditions of freshness and abundance in her cooking today.
Having worked in some of Phoenix and Scottsdale’s top area Restaurants over the past 11 years, Shelley honed her skills and got to know local Arizonan’s tastes. Shelley has also studied under some of the world’s foremost Chef’s and Sugar Artists including Nicholas Lodge, Laure’l Silberberg, Kathy Scott and Jennifer Dontz just to name a few.
Shelley started to develop her own line of signature Desserts and started supplying her employer restaurant and various other local fine dining restaurants with her fabulous creations. Two yeas ago she left her restaurant job, branched out on her own and started Shelley’s Specialty Desserts. In 2005 Shelley and Chef Steven Howard of Your Personal Chef met and a fabulous partnership has resulted in a huge benefit to Your Personal Chef’s clientele.
